It started with the music

Rodeo Nights started with a love of country music and line dancing, and has grown into a community where people can dance, connect and feel at home.

Long before there was Rodeo Nights, there was a little girl, her Nan and a love of country music.

HOW IT ALL BEGAN
Three women standing in front of a decorated Christmas tree, smiling, with a sparkling overlay background. The woman in the center wears a cowboy hat and gold boots.

I started line dancing when I was little, taught by my Nan, Diane, who went on to teach for nearly 20 years. Country music and dancing have always been a huge part of my life, but for a long time I hid that side of myself, worrying about not fitting in or standing out.

When my Nan moved from Norfolk to be closer to family and support my Grandad, who was poorly and needed extra help, she had to give up the classes she loved teaching. She missed it, so in 2024 I offered to help her set up a local class.

And that’s where Diane & Gem’s Line Dancing began. Then, in 2025, my Nan injured her back while helping to lift my Grandad and couldn’t teach, so I stepped in to keep the classes going.

What started as me helping my Nan soon became something much bigger…

Rodeo Nights was born.

What began with a single local class has grown into a community built around music, dancing, friendship and, most importantly, feeling like you belong.

Because I know what it’s like to worry about fitting in, I wanted Rodeo Nights to be different.

A place where you can walk through the door exactly as you are. No judgement. No pressure. Just good music, good people and plenty of dancing.

More than
a class

Today, Rodeo Nights is so much more than a line dancing class.

We run regular classes across multiple local venues, welcoming complete beginners, improvers and everyone in between. We also bring the Rodeo Nights experience to parties, weddings, corporate events, festivals, fundraisers and private celebrations across the country.

My mum now helps me with all of my classes and events, from setting up and welcoming people to helping everything run smoothly behind the scenes. Having her by my side has made Rodeo Nights even more special, and it means this continues to be something built with family at its heart.

We’ve created our own choreography, hosted our own Hoedowns, danced at festivals and watched our dances travel far beyond our local community.

But the thing I’m most proud of isn’t how much Rodeo Nights has grown — it’s the people who have grown with it.

People who came along nervous and now confidently take to the dance floor. People who came alone and found friends, people who thought they “couldn’t dance” and discovered they absolutely could!

And people who simply needed somewhere to switch off for an hour, put the music on and have a bit of fun. That’s what Rodeo Nights is today. A community. A place to dance. A place to make friends. A place to be yourself.

And at the heart of everything we do is the reason it started in the first place: Dance together. Feel at home.
